Established by Anna and Bob Rosevear in 1986 in the beautiful Bay of Islands Mahoe remains a proud family business; their son Tim tends to the small herd of 60 Friesan-cross cows and sons Jesse and Jake, alongside Dutch cheesemaker Tony, work in the adjoining cheesery.
Tim pays special attention to the cows health and wellbeing and milks them twice daily practicing mainly organic principles with his farming and animal care.
The cheesery is next door to the milk shed where the fresh milk is pasturised and turned into fresh cheese the following morning.
These guys are dedicated to their craft of artisan cheese so you can look forward to an ever-evolving assortment of Mahoe Cheese products.
